课程简介
The rise of digital technologies reshapes our self-perception, cultural identity, social interactions, political participation, and the boundaries between public and private life in our interconnected global and digital landscape. In this context, to understand human behaviour and the diverse expressions of digital culture within online environments, we must move beyond a focus on technical specifications and delve into the human context.
In this unit you will explore the multifaceted impact of digital technology on individuals and societies, engaging in critical discussions surrounding the evolving meaning of 'digital' in our lives. Through a multidisciplinary approach, you will examine how digital technologies have transformed various aspects of contemporary life, including communication, identity formation, politics, economics, and social relationships. You will also examine digital media from a global perspective, considering cross-cultural case studies from different regions to understand the diversity of digital media landscapes.
Through active learning, you will get an opportunity to explore the dynamic relationship between digital media, culture, and society, and the ever-evolving relationship between technology, culture, and society.
