课程简介
The workplace learning internship expands education beyond the traditional classroom by applying "theory to practice" in a real-world work environment. It allow you to integrate academic knowledge with practical practice, providing a first-hand look into your chosen field . The work aims to consolidate and extend what you have learnt from core units and other Degree units, through experiential learning. The unit develops your understanding of the application of academically obtained knowledge and skills in a workplace environment, and facilitates your acquisition of work-based networks for potential employment opportunities. Separate internship programs are drawn up for each student.
Pre-internship briefings and workshops run by the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator and Education Management Office (EMO) team will support you to prepare well for the placement and develop an understanding of arts and social sciences-based professions, the work culture and the skills and attributes required for the workplace. Bespoke workshops during your internship will enhance your personal and professional brand.
The unit's main component involves you undertaking a minimum of 144 hours, equivalent to placement with the host partner organisation, and completing three assessments. The host partner organisation will appoint a field supervisor for students, who will provide guidance and support throughout the placement. The Chief Examiner, as the principal assessor for the unit, will oversee the assessment process.
