课程简介
This unit is designed to give you a deep understanding of urban mobility, covering its fundamental principles and key challenges, including sustainable mobility, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and data-driven approaches. You will gain a thorough grasp of digital twins: what they are, how they’re built, and the diverse data sources that feed into them. The unit focuses on practical applications, guiding you to design, develop, validate, and optimise mobility solutions using digital twins to tackle real urban challenges like traffic congestion, energy efficiency, and accessibility.

教学方式
Active learning - You will participate in interactive workshops and computer laboratories designed to reinforce your lecture learning through individual or collaborative activities.
Problem-based learning - To deepen your understanding of the concepts and principles, you will complete problem-solving tasks individually or in small groups.
Online learning - You are expected to prepare each week by reviewing lecture notes and watching the pre-recorded videos.
预期工作量
The minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of 3-6 hours of scheduled learning activities and 6-9 hours of independent study per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher-directed learning, peer-directed learning and online engagement. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities.
