课程简介

This unit is designed to provide a deep understanding of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) storage for the Internet of Things (IoT). You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the architectural design, key principles, and technologies that underpin M2M storage. The unit emphasises practical implementation, guiding you in creating engineering-based applications using IoT storage services and establishing M2M engineering services through diverse technological elements.

  1. ULO1 Explain the architecture design, key design principles and technologies of machine-to-machine storage for Internet of Things (IoT).
  2. ULO2 Construct machine-to-machine engineering-based applications using Internet of Things (IoT) storage services.
  3. ULO3 Create machine-to-machine engineering services using different technologies elements such as virtual machines, web apps and mobile services with data migration techniques.
  4. ULO4 Solve a physical/engineering problem using Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine technologies.

教学方式

Problem-based learning - To better understand the concepts and principles, you will work by yourself or in a small group to solve the given tasks.

Active learning - This unit includes interactive workshops and computer laboratories designed to deepen your understanding of lecture material through individual and group activities.

Online learning - You are expected to prepare for the week by studying lecture notes and watching the pre-recorded videos.

预期工作量

The minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of 3-6 hours of scheduled learning activities and 6-9 hours of independent study per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher-directed learning, peer-directed learning and online engagement. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities.
